Samscloud LLC has initiated legal action against Motorola Solutions Inc. and two other security technology firms, accusing them of violating patents associated with emergency response software. The complaints were filed in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.

The lawsuit targets Motorola’s Rave Mobile Safety unit, Raptor Technologies LLC, and Genetec Inc. Samscloud claims these entities infringed upon United States Patent No. 11,468,757 and Patent No. 12,154,421. These patents cover supervision systems that utilize geofencing techniques to monitor and track the physical locations of individuals.

According to the filings, the accused companies’ emergency management tools employ methods similar to those protected by Samscloud’s intellectual property. Specifically, the complaint notes that Raptor’s products feature interactive floor plans for educational facilities and include capabilities to monitor the movement of people within those spaces.

The legal documents do not specify the damages sought or the potential remedies Samscloud is requesting from the court. It remains unclear whether the defendants have responded to the allegations or if a timeline for the proceedings has been established.

Motorola Solutions, Raptor Technologies, and Genetec have not publicly commented on the litigation at this time. The outcome of the dispute has not yet been determined.

Motorola Solutions employs about 375 people in Allen, according to local government records.
