The Allen football team secured a 26-7 victory over Duncanville during the Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer Football Classic on Friday night at Eagle Stadium. The win marked a strong start for the Eagles, who relied heavily on a dominant defensive performance to contain their opponents.
Allen’s defense limited Duncanville to just 163 total yards and recorded 13 tackles for loss along with six sacks. Senior Beckhem Parker was named the game’s defensive MVP after recording two sacks and five tackles for loss in the second half alone. Other key contributors included seniors Jacobie Wilkerson and Dara Adeosun, sophomore Raiden Johnson, and junior D’Mand Smith.
Duncanville scored its only touchdown on a 53-yard pass from Maximus Denson to Trenton Yancey late in the second quarter, cutting Allen’s lead to 12-7 at halftime. The Eagles extended their advantage midway through the fourth quarter when sophomore quarterback Ty Snell threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Zach Williams following a short punt by Duncanville.
Snell, making his first start for Allen, completed 17 of 25 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns while adding 46 rushing yards. He also threw two interceptions. Williams caught seven passes for 68 yards and the touchdown in his debut with the Eagles. Junior Cylas Siciliano also contributed with a 17-yard touchdown reception earlier in the game.
Allen sealed the win with a nine-yard touchdown run by senior Lyndon Spriggs with 1:46 remaining. The victory came after both teams graduated significant numbers of players from their previous rosters, leaving many questions about how each squad would perform early in the season.
