Allen, Hebron, and McKinney Boyd have established themselves as leading contenders in Class 6A volleyball, each entering the latest round of district play with unbeaten records. The three teams, frequently cited in state polls as top-tier programs, continued their dominant starts with wins over their respective opponents.
Hebron improved its record to 3-0 in the 5-6A district after defeating Frisco Wakeland 3-1. The Lady Hawks maintained their position at the top of the league standings, tied with Flower Mound. Junior Kate McGough recorded 22 kills and 18 digs, while senior Grace Schneekloth added 14 kills.
Senior Kamryn Mullican contributed 52 assists, 14 digs, three aces, and six kills. For Wakeland, sophomore Skye Lincoln recorded 18 kills and 12 digs, but the team fell to 2-1.
Allen extended its winning streak to five games, improving its overall record to 27-2. The Lady Eagles defeated McKinney in three sets with scores of 25-10, 25-11, and 25-21. Junior Maya Ogbogu finished the match with 10 kills, five digs, and two blocks. Allen currently leads the standings at 3-0.
McKinney Boyd, sitting at 2-0 in the 6-6A district, defeated Princeton in straight sets with scores of 25-12, 25-16, and 25-5. Senior Olivia Permenter led the Lady Broncos with 11 kills and five digs. Boyd trails Allen by one win in the district standings.
