Football scores 42 straight points in 51-21 victory over Prosper

The No. 10 Allen Eagles defeated Prosper 51-21 on Thursday, outscoring the opponent 42-7 after falling behind early in the second quarter.

Allen football secured a 51-21 victory over Prosper on Thursday, extending its undefeated record with six games remaining before the postseason. The Eagles trailed 14-9 during the second quarter before mounting a decisive offensive surge that resulted in 42 consecutive points.

Quarterback Ty Snell, ranked as the No. 2 player in the Class of 2029, led the scoring effort with three touchdown passes. Two of those scores were caught by junior Josyah Johnson, while sophomore Zach Williams added the third. On the defensive side, junior D'Mand Smith recovered a fumble forced by senior Jacobie Wilkerson and returned it for a touchdown.

Dominic Butler contributed to the scoring with an interception and a punt return touchdown.

This win marks Allen's fourth victory of the season, following previous wins over Duncanville, DeSoto, and Southlake Carroll. The team remains in strong position heading into the final stretch of the regular season.

In other national high school football action, No. 13 Mater Dei from Santa Ana, California, hosts No. 8 Bishop Gorman from Las Vegas, Nevada, in the MaxPreps Game of the Week. The matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT and will be streamed on the NFHS Network.

Mater Dei improved to a 4-0 record with a 10-9 win over Centennial, while Bishop Gorman bounced back from a loss to Columbus with a 38-14 victory over Lone Peak. Mater Dei has won all five previous meetings against Bishop Gorman, including a 28-24 win last season.

No. 3 IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, faces The First Academy in Orlando, aiming to extend its winning streak to 14 games. Five-star junior quarterback Jayden Wade has completed 37 of 48 passes for 643 yards and nine touchdowns, adding 131 rushing yards and two scores on the ground.

His primary targets, Eric McFarland III and Osani Gayles, have combined for 32 receptions, 595 yards, and eight touchdowns.

In Georgia, No. 5 Buford travels to Grayson in Loganville for a matchup that has not occurred since 2023. Buford recently defeated No. 23 Central 18-7, with five-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster making his debut. Grayson has won two consecutive games after starting the season 0-2.

No. 6 Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, California, plays Orange Lutheran in California, looking to add another quality win to its resume. The Trailblazers have outscored their first three opponents 118-28, aided by a defensive line featuring five-star Marcus Fakatou, four-star Kasi Currie, and Stephan Harrison.

In Texas, No. 20 North Crowley from Fort Worth opens district play with a road game at Duncanville. The Panthers have played three quality opponents to start the year. Duncanville recently fell 21-20 to DeSoto after nearly erasing a 21-7 halftime deficit. The last meeting between North Crowley and Duncanville occurred in the 2024 6A Division 1 semifinals, which North Crowley won 36-34.
