Dallas produced 266 passing yards but 66 on the ground. Javonte Williams had 30 yards on 12 carries. Coach Brian Schottenheimer said the plan was to make Washington defend across the field and rely on passing, though he did not anticipate finishing with 66 rushing yards.
Jones praised defensive tackles Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark. He called Williams among the NFL’s elite players and said Clark’s steady play has helped anchor the middle of Dallas’ defense. Jones also said Williams was not injured after appearing slow to get up on several plays against Washington.
The Cowboys will play Baltimore at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Social media users have questioned the field after Flamengo played there, but Schottenheimer said the team’s operations personnel has been in contact with the league and he is not worried about the surface.
