The Houston Texans have signed cornerback Bryce Hall to enhance their roster as they prepare for an upcoming preseason matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. General manager Nick Caserio confirmed the signing on August 17, following Hall's workout with the team.
At 28 years old, Hall previously played for the New York Jets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was drafted in 2020, selected in the fifth round as the 158th overall pick. Over his career, he has started 26 of 40 games, recording a total of 122 tackles, two interceptions, one fumble recovery, one defensive touchdown, and half a sack.
Standing at 6-foot-1, Hall brings versatility and is expected to help improve the Texans' special teams, which are currently underperforming.
The Texans are dealing with several injuries in their secondary, affecting players such as Tank Dell and Brevin Jordan, who are sidelined with various issues. These challenges could impact the team's special teams performance, making Hall's addition particularly timely as he aims to provide necessary depth and experience.
Further updates regarding the Texans' roster and injury status are expected as the preseason continues.
